Typical boat style used on New Mexico's San Juan River. Requiring stability as a fishing platform, these boats are extremely durable and mobile because of the many changing currents and speeds of the river. Because of restrictions, no motors of any kind including electrics are allowed on the river. A guide's role is two-fold in that he must be an accomplished fisherman and instructor while also assuming the chores of good boatsmanship.
